The Great Outdoors

We went on our first family campout this weekend. We traveled to a nearby state park with some friends, set up camp in a lovely, shady spot,

across from here

where we proceeded to wade,
attempted to catch baby catfish (and anything else that swam)

and build amazing rock castles,

and cities with roads, towers and science centers.

We even managed to park next to this:

Alas, I had no specimen bag or gloves with me...
Turns out, this family loves to camp. We're planning a camping trip in the fall. But next time, we're bringing the air mattress.

What a great way to spend the weekend! We love getting in the creek.

Thanks, Leslie! It was a lot of fun. Who knew we were campers at heart?

You posted a picture of dead animal parts--lol. We are rubbing off on you. ;)

I'm so glad y'all had a great time! G refuses to sleep in a tent even in the backyard.
