Snow!

This is our third snow of the month. I only know this because I've been diligently taking pictures and (even better) organizing them into dated folders. Kudos.

Our usual Monday activity was cancelled due to snow and we were forced to stay home today (insert evil laugh here). We did all sorts of schooly stuff, including a counting game DD devised from flower petals left over from her heady days as flower girl. We separated them into piles, counted the piles, added different numbers of petals to one pile and so on. She had one minor episode during math, but I hardly reacted to it and it all blew over quickly.

I'm definitely more aware of how I influence any give situation. Most times I feel like I'm being chased by a giant snowball consisting of homeschoolery, housewifery, and general tomfoolery, but I've begun to realize I can step out of the path. That feels good.

Really like that snowball analogy! So easy to get that dear-in-the-headlights effect and let it roll right over you. Nice to think we can just step out of the way, then get right back on track. :)
