We started off strong this morning. We put together a Tinkerbell puzzle in no time flat, then had "school," just like the olden days of last year. She remembered most of the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as the majority of the Lord's prayer. Then we had a great time (if a great time can be had doing this--I suppose so much depends on the definition) playing with the lowercase letters that came with the WordLaunch game that we've been using. She was able to identify b and d correctly and had little trouble sounding out the different combinations we made. Then we messed around, making different words by changing only one letter, e.g. sit/sat, wig/wit, etc. She read six of her Bob books tonight, in spite of being tired and bored and thirsty. Oy.
Then we enjoyed a day of high drama with one minimelt after another. DD has gone from being a roll with the punches sort of person to someone like me. I'm not sure if this town is big enough for the both of us. I suppose one of us will have to take the high road. I'm still not convinced that she is getting enough sleep, but there is not much I can do about that. If I put her down earlier, she just wakes up that much earlier in the AM. Anyway, putting her to bed any earlier would be downright criminal.
