Goals version 2011

It's that time of year again: that time of year when so many of us reflect on the highs and lows of the previous year and plan to reproduce the highs and avoid the lows in the coming year, if at all possible.

On the whole, I am pleased with our efforts in 2010. DD and I officially started homeschooling, with curricula and everything. We made new friends and kept the old. We helped to organize a new co-op. We both learned alot.

I'm hoping that this list of goals, inspired by my friend Sherry, will help me achieve that elusive goal of organization...

Homeschool Goals
  • Language Arts
    • Resurrect/Invigorate our handwriting lessons
    • Read more poetry
    • Make notebook pages for some of her favorite books
  • Math
    • Play math games like Cubes and Sum Swamp several times a month
    • Make a point to integrate math into our daily life (in other words, don't just watch the Math U See video segment, do a few workbook pages and call it a day)
  • History
    • Do a few projects from the Story of the World (SOTW) Activity book
    • Request historical non-fiction books from the library IN ADVANCE
    • Read two chapters of SOTW per week
  • Science
    • Make a Human Body lapbook
    • Have materials on-hand for a few science experiments throughout the semester
Personal Goals
  • Cultivate patience *see Homeschool goals
  • Jettison the quest for perfection
  • Exercise/Train for a half marathon
  • Start knitting again
  • Give back as much as I've received
  • And always, always remember what it's all about:

Happy New Year, y'all!

Do you have a premade human body lapbook picked out or are you going to make your own? G would probably like to do one of those too, so I was just curious to know if you've found any good stuff.
