First Grade

Yesterday was our "official" start date for first grade. I was pleasantly surprised by her eagerness to start school; I think she thought she was going to start elementary school. However, she recovered nicely and we had a great morning.

Here is her first attempt at dictation. Looking good!

We were on the hunt for caterpillars; DD thought that the bottom of the web looked like a tent caterpillar's cocoon, but it was the bottom floor of a very elaborate web home. Dinner is almost ready.

Finally, we just observed the neighbor's cat.

:) Sounds more fun than going to elementary school...

I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism, but I think that is an overwhelming amount to ask her to copy for her current skill level. I personally would probably only have her copy one or two words at a time and focus more on proper letter formation.
