A Visit to Drake's Creek

We visited Drake's Creek with some friends last Thursday and had a wonderful time. We intend to go back as soon as the flood waters recede.

We had a lovely time exploring the park, particularly when we journeyed to the end of the sidewalk and beyond. It's so good to have friends who teach you how to see the world in a new light.

Here are a few pictures of our adventures.

A brief interlude before scaring ducks and geese into the water.

A mama and her ducklings already in the water, fortunately for them.

An interesting bug and a chance to experiment with macro focus. Excellent.

Poking a stick at a dead critter. I managed to contain my shudders quite well, I think.
Look, the camera is not even shaking.

Unfortunately it may be a while before we can go back. The soccer fields are near there, and they have already said there may be no more soccer in 2010. :( That is also the area that still has water on 31--traffic is down to one lane, both directions and is backed up terribly. Rick gave up trying to get to work this morning. Vietnam Veterans Blvd. is closed indefinitely. He's going to go down 109 and get on 40 in Lebanon tomorrow.
