We had a very busy day this morning. Breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then a quick trip to the world's greatest used bookstore, or at least Nashville's. I've been squirrelling away DVDs, CDs, and books to trade, so we were able to get all the books we wanted. We didn't have to make any pesky choices about what to keep and what to put back. Still trying to explain to DH how trading old, boring items for new and exciting items doesn't cost him any money, but he went on about how the items you purchase from the store decrease in value, zzzzzz. Sorry, I fell asleep during that conversation and thus can't report it accurately here. Suffice it to say that I was pleased with my tremendous haul, including a nice copy of Edith Hamilton's Mythology and Peter and Iona Opie's Classic Fairy Tales (both of which I recently contemplated buying from (not trading with) Amazon.
Then we spent a nice afternoon playing board games with some other homeschool families. DD had a good time playing some games, but really enjoyed the playground time. It was a beautiful and balmy 47 degrees today. No coats for us. Yippee!
She is such a brave kid, though. She goes up to a group of strangers and asks them if she can play. She does this routinely. It struck me yesterday as I watched her do that very thing that I always push her to do the things I'm reluctant to do myself. So today I walked up to a group of strangers and met some really terrific people. Good for us.
