Take the A Train

And the B, C and D trains for that matter. DD has progressed through several more pages of Phonics Pathways. We're currently burning up three-letter words. We've basically hit the review section, then we're on to consonant digraphs--a fancy way of saying that two letters produce a single sound. She's excited about working her way through the pages; she even did an extra page tonight for Daddy, who was duly impressed. She works through the words fairly quickly and will sometimes make sentences with the word we're working with, e.g. "I rode a jet to Florida with Grandma and Nanny."

I'm starting to think more about a PLAN for kindergarten; nothing stressful, though. I'm taking a page from my calm friend who avoids taxing herself unnecessarily. The main focus will continue to be reading. I hope she'll be reading fluently this time next year. (Should I even be writing this down?)
