We made gingerbread cookies in honor of the Christmas season today. They turned out alright, in spite of being a lowfat recipe. Lowfat does NOT go with Christmas. Of course, we ate one a piece as soon as they came out of the oven. After she finished her cookie, she told me "OK, Mom. If I ask you again about having a cookie, it just means I forgot and you should answer me politely." Wow. I was humbled for about 5 minutes, then went on in my usual mode. Too bad.
We made a numbers game today out of plastic cups with pictures of ducks taped to them and an egg carton. Each egg cup was assigned a number between one and ten. The object is to flip a coin/chip/ball of yarn into one of the cups, then put the corresponding number of teaspoons of water in your large cup. The person whose water level reaches the duck's bottom first wins. If only I had known about this game during the summer. Oh well. I'm sure we'll make up for lost time.
